The above Optional SATs have been developed in response to many teachers contacting us regarding optional SATs.  Optional SATs are a useful tool to use for summative assessments.  With the increasing need for termly assessments, necessitated by pupil tracking and target setting, it became obvious that the two existing optional SATs papers, published by the government in 2003 and 2006 were not sufficient for teachers' needs.  Therefore we have produced a whole set of new optional Maths SATs, which are based on the original optional SATs. They follow exactly the skills and concepts tested  and teachers can be confident that these tests will give an accurate National Curriculum level.
